You have encountered an enriching collection of 1000 great things—a celebration of the positive aspects of our lives and the world around us. Think of it as an encyclopedia of joy, a reminder of how much beauty, wonder, and goodness surrounds us every day.
It is important to notice the small joys of daily life, yet this list suggests something even deeper: the world is full of great things that can amaze us, inspire us, and remind us why life is worth living. Many small joys, in fact, reflect something greater—for example, how a simple kind word reveals the deeper goodness within us. Some of these small but meaningful moments have also found their place in this collection.
As Buddha said, "Contentment is the greatest wealth." May you feel richer and richer as you journey through these elements. Enjoy the exploration, and let yourself be filled with joy.
How to use this page
The 1000 great things are organized into nine main categories, along with around seventy subcategories.
Most elements reflect experiences that many people share, but some may be things you have not encountered—and perhaps never will. Still, by practicing gratitude for the happiness of others (see element 927), even these can become a source of joy.
You do not need to experience everything on this list to live a full and meaningful life (see element 950).
Each element is accompanied by an image. Sometimes these pictures may appear almost too perfect. Yet real-life moments can truly feel as wonderful as a beautifully composed photograph. And how often does it happen that we try to capture a moment we love, only to find that our own photo cannot quite do it justice?
You will also find a bonus list of 111 additional great things—these, however, are not accompanied by images.
Notes on sources
Most images come from iStock (www.istockphoto.com). If a different source is used, it is indicated in the Notes. If an element is based on a quote, this is also noted there.
The list itself was personally curated. AI was used only for translation, language editing, and refinement. However, the Notes section may include AI-generated text created with carefully designed prompts. None of the images are AI-generated.
Final thought
I hope you will connect with many of the elements in this collection, and that reading them will be a truly joyful experience.
